The Band Manager
Blesson Joseph β Band Manager, HRFN
The Band Manager
I am honoured to serve as Band Manager for Halfway River First Nation, a position I assumed in September 2024. Since joining the Nation in April 2021 in a finance leadership role, I have gained deep insight into our governance structures, operational frameworks, and the priorities that matter most to our community.
My background in accounting, finance, and governance shapes my approach to this role β one centered on strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing accountability, and ensuring that every decision we make aligns with the long-term vision set forth by Chief and Council.
In my time as Band Manager, I have focused on building a coordinated, systems-based approach to administration. This means working across departments to improve efficiency, support evidence-based decision-making, and ensure our programs and services are responsive, sustainable, and truly driven by the needs of our community.
Looking ahead, our strategic priorities remain clear: advancing housing development, renewing infrastructure, and diversifying our economy. The implementation of our Comprehensive Community Plan, alongside the development of a forward-looking Strategic Plan, will serve as the foundation for sustainable growth and self-determination.
I want to acknowledge the continued dedication of our leadership, staff, and community members. Every achievement we celebrate is the result of collective effort, and it is a privilege to contribute to the long-term prosperity and resilience of Halfway River First Nation.
